    Erik becomes a Knight

    Erik was bestowed the honor of 4th degree Knight by the Knights of Columbus. Erik was the youngest person ever knighted. After Erik's death, the Knights passed a bill named after Erik which allows other young men with life threatening illnesses to become a knight as well.

    A fundraiser was held at the restaurant in Mount Airy. A portion of the proceeds from two evenings was donated to the Shumaker family.
