The Erik Lerch Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and all donations to the foundation are tax deductable. We are a component fund of The Community Foundation of Carroll County. The foundation is run completely by volunteers.

The Erik Lerch Foundation was created in memory of Bill Lerch, Erik's father. It was Bill's dream to take the fund that was originally set up for Erik and turn it into a community organization that would help others and give back to the community that so willingly and lovingly supported Erik. Unfortunately, Bill died suddenly and unexpectedly in October, 2005, before seeing his dream come true, and with the passing of Erik in March, 2006, the foundation has now truly become a community foundation in honor of two very special people who made a huge impact on Mount Airy.
