Stacey Shumaker is a 15-year old girl from Mount Airy, MD. On June 21, 2007, Stacey's life changed forever. She did a shallow dive into the family pool, like she's done a hundred times before. For some inexplicable reason, on this particular day, her head hit the wall of the pool and Stacey sustained a broken neck and spinal cord injury.

Stacey continues to face her challenges head on, with a smile and a determination that is an inspiration to all around her.
